Compared to the South Island regions of Aotearoa, the profile of the North Island regions are not as strong, especially in international markets. The individual messaging and brands are fragmented, making it difficult for operators to ‘sell the North’, and even more difficult for  travellers to understand the value of a North Island holiday.

Solution

Starting by bringing the 15 North Island Regional Tourism Operators under ‘one brand’ - Kiwi North - we then brought to life what ‘north’ could mean for travellers. We turned it into a metaphor for exactly what travellers are looking for: connection, adventure, peace and joy. With North Island where they could find it. ‘North’ became more than a direction. It’s became what travellers are seeking.
